Craig Morrison is a singer/songwriter based in Sydney, Australia. Heavily influenced by his famous father Lucky Starr as a child, Craig has spent much of his life either on the stage or performing on TV or in film. Singing harmonies with his dad on stage at a young age, Craig has developed into a mature performer whose stagemanship, singing, writing and guitar playing can span generations. Comfortable with performing his own songs, traditional country songs or traditional Australian folk songs, it is Erk’s opinion that you can not pigeon-hole Craig exclusively into the country genre along even though this is where he has had most success. From small children through to young adults to the seniors, Craig is not scared to get the crowd involved and interacting with him, the band and each other. He is also very friendly and charismatic off the stage after a performance and online.
His debut album “Heaven Knows” was released in early 2009. The title track has been recognised with 3rd place in the Australian Songwriters Association Awards in 2009 (“Beyond Control” was ranked 6th). It was also ranked in the top 10 in 2010 in the Music Oz Awards (along with “Miss You”). Craig was also a finalist in the 2010 Toyota Star Maker Awards at the world-famous Tamworth Country Music Festival which recognises Australia’s best up and coming talent in Australian country music.
Craig’s music features on episode 3 of Insomnia Radio: Australia. Visit Craig’s website where you can listen to music, watch videos and a lot more including personal interactions on social networking sites such as Facebook and Twitter. The 2009 album “Heaven Knows” is available on iTunes, online via Gum Tree Music or at a performance.
